In the hammock reading Leonard Koren’s Wabi-Sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers. A very good book, highly recommend especially if you want to know about Japanese aesthetics

Such a delightful summer! It’s been both fun and productive. Had a goal to complete revising my novel manuscript under the working title: What Was Left Behind, and also to enjoy Colorado, get out a lot, commune with the mountains and woods. I’m happy to report that last night at exactly eleven minutes to 1am, I finished reworking the novel. Felt elated and took a while to fall asleep because of the butterflies in my tummy, a sensation I’ve come to associate with love, joy and expectation. I guess everyone who has worked on a long project for a while knows the feeling; when you eventually arrive at an end, which could be another beginning because of yet other processes required before one can hold the product. Still, we rejoice with each milestone and hope that our products will find good homes. Good reception.

To all the folks out there working indefatigably on projects, more power to you, more discipline and hope, more soul and joy, more perspiration. May you see your future selves in your creations and be at peace or fall in love, whichever you desire.
